A husband and wife team collectively spends over $100,000 on their educations and opens up a small business to provide specialized services to members of their community. Just years before their planned retirement, an online reviewer decides their business should be condemned and starts posting libelous reviews about these business owners on Yelp.com.
Unfortunately, she’s targeted them now and she’s not letting up.
Numerous Yelpers cheered this reviewer’s terror campaign on by clicking “Useful” under her reviews, which only served to magnify the creditability of her defamatory speech.
This reviewer’s online terror campaign has lasted for over 3 months. It started soon after Christmas. Wild accusations were made, so wild that they’ll likely attract the attention of local activists should they to continue.
As you can see in the image, Yelp has been extremely cooperative in removing her fictitious rants from this business’s Yelp page, which is great news for these business owners. Yet she continues to repost her review soon after Yelp removes it.
Insiders tell us that she has yet to be banned completely from Yelp.
Should she make a 5th attack on this company, will she then end up banned? One should hope so. We’ve been shown documents that prove the reviewer in question has a history of being cared for in a therapeutic setting due to having endangered herself or others.
In her latest review re-post, she threatened to sue Yelp should her review be taken down again. Since she is an infrequent contributor to Yelp, with only 5 or so reviews under her belt since her Yelp membership began a few years ago, so it would seem that a banning would be in order. She also cursed at Yelp. It’s a bit surprising to us that Yelp would tolerate such poor online conduct, but perhaps they’re simply following some behind the scenes procedure (or not, we really don’t know how Yelp might be planning to respond to her hostility).
Regardless, all of the involved parties are hoping she’ll soon be banned.
One solution provider has recommended that it would be ideal if her reviews were ghosted, kind of like they do on craigslist.org, out of concern for the welfare of the business owners should a banning trigger her to take her attacks offline.
